Data sheet
The metasequoia, also known as the Japanese sequoia or water fir, is a bonsai tree native to China that was thought to have disappeared from the face of the earth. It made headlines when it was discovered in 1941 in the Sichuan region of China. The metasequoia is known for its rapid growth, elegant conical shape and needle-shaped, light-green leaves that turn bronze in autumn before dropping.
