Data sheet
The Beech "fagus sylvatica" is a deciduous bonsai tree that thrives in the lower mountains and in the countryside. Its greyish bark becomes rougher as it ages. Its foliage is marcescent, meaning that it remains attached to the tree even after the leaves have died in autumn and often until the spring swell of buds causes it to fall.
